Other Information: Staffordshire University has a long and proud history of providing high quality, progressive and inclusive higher education for people from across Staffordshire, the region, the UK and the rest of the world. We remain committed to reaching out to our learners and users in their own communities at home and overseas. To support this commitment we work from our own premises and those of our various local and international partners. We have two main campuses in Stoke-on-Trent and Stafford and a co-funded University Centre in Lichfield (SULC). Nursing and midwifery courses are taught at Stafford and, following the integration into the University in 1995 of the Shropshire and Staffordshire College of Nursing and Midwifery, there are also bases in Shrewsbury, Telford and Oswestry. We also run a number of vocational courses, including a wide range of employer-backed foundation degrees, through our long-established network of further education colleges throughout Staffordshire and into Shropshire. This nationally recognised consortium is known as SURF (Staffordshire University Regional Federation) In addition, more than 5,000 students are studying for Staffordshire University awards at overseas partner institutions based in Europe and across Asia. Recognising that geographical and time barriers can be a constraint to learning, we also continue to develop online courses for access at home and/or in the workplace. The University continues to meet the needs of its students, partners, communities and employees now and in the future by embracing diversity, enabling and encouraging local regeneration and constantly seeking to provide easier access to learning for people from all walks of life. 16,000 students make up the University's vibrant cultural mix from the UK and around the world. One of the first things visitors notice about Staffordshire University is the wide diversity of ages, backgrounds, cultures, nationalities and lifestyles that make up our community, we also remain dedicated to fulfilling our responsibilities as a truly international centre of learning.
