They are not linked to, administered, or governed by any religious organisation or specific style of education. Each Grammar School is governed separately by a Board of Trustees comprising seven members appointed by the Governor-in-Council for a term of four years as prescribed in the Grammar Schools Act. Subscribers to the School elect three nominees to the Governor-in-Council for the position of Trustee, and four Trustees are nominated by the Minister for Education. Ipswich Girls' Grammar School welcomes applications from students who are residents of other countries and who wish to study in Australia. International students are required to provide evidence of their ability to communicate proficiently in English and of their academic standards. Because of this requirement and also the need to organise such details as the Student Visa, the enrolment process for international students is usually coordinated between our Enrolments Registrar, and an approved education agent. However, direct entry can also be considered where no education agent has been engaged.
