Other Information: The Hamilton and Alexandra College is a co-educational day and boarding school. We are extremely proud of our strong history and traditional values and equally proud of our outstanding facilities and innovative educational programs.
The College is highly respected as the prime educational institution in the local and regional community and plays an important role through its community work, leadership programs and co-curricular programs.
The College has two campuses, both set in beautiful and spacious country settings in Hamilton in Victoria's Western District, a 3 hour drive or 45 minute flight west of Melbourne.
The Chaucer Street site is home to our Senior Campus for students in Years 7 to 12. It is very close to the city centre and many of the town's sporting and cultural facilities .
All students aged over 16 years of age must have an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Score of 5.0 OR 4.0 (if undertaking preliminary English language tuition of no more than 30 weeks).
Students from the People's Republic of China (PRC) only who do not wish to provide an IELTS score may access a waiver.
Criteria for Waiver:
Evidence of satisfactory results of a test undertaken in English, under appropriate Exam conditions with a qualified tester
or
Evidence that they have completed a Middle School Certificate (Year 9) and
obtained a result that would allow them to continue to an academic stream in Senior School in PRC
and
studied English from Years 7 to 9 and obtained a result of at least 75% for English language studies in their Middle School Certificate
and
the applicant has, at the time of the visa application, a letter from the education provider supporting consideration of the waiver
