We aim to meet the needs of diverse learners in a safe and creative environment as well as providing our students with excellent facilities, a modern curriculum and committed staff.
The School year starts in early February and ends mid-November for Years 11-13 and mid-December for Years 9-10.
The High School curriculum is shaped around the New Zealand Curriculum in the Junior school; and is reflective of the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Standards in the Senior school – with an attempt to provide both an academic pathway for those heading to University and other tertiary studies, as well as a pathway for those who may look to enter vocational training or seek employment opportunities.
Responsibility for curriculum lies in the hands of the Deputy Principal responsible for Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting (currently Gael Ashworth), who chairs four-weekly meetings with our Heads of Faculty. Gael has also worked with a Curriculum Committee formed this year to review our curriculum, particularly in the Senior school.
