Other Information: We offer a unique educational experience to a small group of selected students from around the world. We are fully certified by the Ministry of Education and offer courses leading to fluency in English as well as the skills and knowledge needed for graduation with a government diploma. St. John’s high school graduates will be provided with the opportunity to enter at least one of the 10 Canadian Universities through our sister school, Dorset College. All the teachers have teaching certificates and are accredited by the BC Ministry of Education. They are experienced educators who have a proven track record of helping students achieve their academic best. Three level ESL program that is offered three hours per day: this allows the students to rapidly progress through all three levels of ESL within 12 months in our trimester system. Our regular high school graduation program provides students with all necessary courses to obtain a graduation certificate (the “Dogwood”) from the British Columbia Ministry of Education. Students are required to gain a total of 80 credits by successfully completing 20 individual courses. At least four grade 12 courses, including one grade 12 Language Arts course, are required. Below is a list of the courses required by the Ministry of Education for high school graduation. The program in St. Johns starts every January, May and September. It provides students with the opportunity to graduate earlier than in a two –semester system.
